A new MENZ DEN Collective started this week.

We are pleased to announce a new group started this week at the Charlesbrook aged care facility in Templestowe, a north eastern suburb of Melbourne.  Our mature aged mens discussion group was a collective of eight residents seeking companionship and connections with other like minded men.  We shared our life experiences and shared some fun events and with smiles and laughter.

Our plans are to meet twice a month and enjoy good mateship.  A thank you to the Charlesbrook site management and Lifestyle staff for making our group happen.

Wattletree Festival 2018, Hurstbridge

We will be on show at The Hub in Hurstbridge this coming Sunday 26th August so please come and see us.  We will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about The Age Of Change collectives and the Pick My Projects incentives applicable in the Nillumbik and Manningham council areas.

Men Sharing Show & Tell Photos

Happy Birthday Garry

One of our MENZ DEN Collective members enjoyed his birthday recently.   The celebrations were with our men’s group with some hearty singing and afterwards eating some fresh cake with coffee.  We all like sharing important celebrations and life milestones with our mates at Grevillea House on Thursday mornings.

5 Simple Steps to Maximise Your Brain Health

Last week the Grevillea House MENZ DEN Collective were given a presentation by Ms Bernadette Milsted, a Dementia Australia Councellor who provided us with 5 steps that we can help improve our Brain Health.  These included the following 5 action steps:

  1. look after your heart
  2. do some kind of physical activity
  3. mentally challenge your brain
  4. follow a healthy diet, and
  5. enjoy social activity.

We all agreed that we should maintain our healthy diet plans and maybe start a new hobby.  Thanks to the members for their interaction and to Bernadette for an interesting morning’s presentation.
